With the freeze in USAID funding, many of us are hearing from organizations and friends who we all have helped to support over the years and are wanting to know how best can we help them in this season of disruption.  We've invited our friends from The Gathering to join us for a conversation with Christian relief and development network leaders and an advisor to international development organizations, who together will help us understand the current landscape for nonprofits and NGOs.

The focus will be to assess what we know regarding the USAID funding freeze (understanding that is is quite dynamic and what we know about it is sometimes changing on a weekly and even daily basis), we are also going to explore its implications for our partners, and discuss any potential actions our members can take in this time of significant disruption.

We'll be joined by 4 panelists:

Randy Tift, who is an advisor to international development organizations. Previously, he led USAID’s reform initiative (2017–21), and worked in Congress, global development operations, and international policy on relief, democracy, human rights, and security.

Michael Cerna, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Accord Network.

Peter Howard, who serves as a Senior Fellow for Transformation at the Accord Network.

Accord is a network of 150 Christ-centered relief and development organizations including organizations like World Relief, Compassion International, World Vision, Hope International, who are organizations dedicated to serving vulnerable communities worldwide. Their members collectively leverage over $5 billion in resources annually to provide essential services such as food, shelter, medical care, and education.

Deborah Hancox, who is the Global Director for the Micah Network. Micah is a network of 322 Christian relief and development organizations across 93 countries, mainly comprised by organizations from the Global South.
