Bringing funders together to tackle big problems is both very appealing and very difficult.

It’s one thing to learn from other funders, another thing to align programmatic goals, and another still to fund jointly or even pool funds. What are the pros and cons of funding collaboratively? Why is it so challenging?

For the first half of this session we’ll hear from three funder collaboratives about the nuts and bolts of their work and the results they’ve seen. They won’t pitch their organizations, but we’ll ask them to make their cases for why collaborative funding is a good idea, and reserve some time for Q&A. Then our guests will depart and we’ll have a frank, funders-only conversation about the practical and philosophical issues that collaborative funding presents. Please join us for the full 90 minutes to get the most from this discussion with peers!

Guests:

Flourish Fund — Dan Vogel, Founder and CEO & Erin Bradbury, Chief of Staff

India Collaboration (no website for security) — Joseph Vijayam, Executive Director

SaltExchange — Johanna Sheridan, Founder and CEO
